Paulett Taggart, FAIA, LEED AP
Principal & Founder

Since founding Paulett Taggart Architects in 1986, Paulett has held fast to the belief that excellent design enriches the lives of the people who use our buildings and enhances the public realm. This vision has permeated throughout our studio and manifests in every project, whether it’s a block of apartments, a community facility, or a private residence. To each and every project, Paulett brings her unique sensitivity to client needs; her eye for elegant, enduring design; and her steadfast commitment to improving the daily lives of the communities our work serves. As the firm has grown, Paulett’s role has expanded. She provides ongoing support to team leaders throughout the design process, especially in the early phases, and has a hand in everything that goes on in our office, from studies and fit plans to high-level management and business development. Her deeply engaged, humble, and enthusiastic approach has developed the foundation upon which our strong, collaborative, and hard-working studio culture rests. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Architecture, Paulett worked at Stubbins/Allen and Daniel Solomon & Associates, from which she moved on to graduate school. On receiving her Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, returned to the Bay Area and founded Paulett Taggart Architects. She has taught at California College of the Arts and UC Berkeley and currently serves as a member of the Dean’s Council at the University of Oregon College of Design, bringing her sensitive, community-oriented, and elegant design approach beyond the confines of our office. Paulett is a recipient of the 2024 Maybeck Award from AIA California, which recognizes outstanding achievement in architectural design.
